Here is a a “snippet” of Meg’s nomination…..Meg may have retired from teaching in 1996, but her heart was always with the children as she continued as a volunteer teacher at BLOCKS Preschool. She was instrumental in establishing the Kindergarten Certification and Kindergarten Screening program in Framingham. Meg lives the motto….”No Child Left Behind”. She carried the mission of service to others through her decade’s long assistance at St. Bridget’s Parish….from volunteer co-director of the Food Pantry serving all Framingham residents experiencing food insecurity, to serving as a member and secretary of the St. Bridget’s School Advisory Board dealing with school oversight and the administration of scholarships. Meg has touched and enriched so many lives. She is dedicated to her hometown and its history and has served as a weekly volunteer host and docent at the Framingham History Center for visiting public school students as well as all Framingham residents. She co-authored the book, “The ABC’s of Framingham History”.

As a valued member of the Framingham Garden Club, Meg serves on many committees, namely Membership – recruiting, welcoming new members and introducing them to the many activities and Framingham community projects sponsored by the club; Scholarship – promoting and selecting scholarship recipients among qualified high school senior applicants who are Framingham residents who plan on studying environmental science or related fields;  and Senior Classes – bringing joy to seniors living in Framingham Assisted Living facilities through floral design classes. Men and women participate and truly enjoy this stimulating and creative learning experience. Mrs. Kelley co-chaired a major fundraiser “Music in Bloom” which replenished the Club’s Scholarship Fund. For all her years of service and efforts, Meg was selected as the Club’s “Unsung Hero”.
